Constitution News Quarterly, Submission Guidelines

We accept submissions only through email.  We do not accept submissions through postal services. Articles must be in one of the following file forms: .doc, .docx, .txt, .odf, or .wps.  Article submissions may also be sent pasted into the body of your email if these file forms are not available to you.

All articles should be in 12-point type, preferably Times New Roman.  The author’s name, address, telephone number, and email address should at the top of the first page. A brief biographical note should be added with your submissions at the end of each article.

Submissions may be sent to us at any time, year-round.  To ensure your article has an opportunity to be in the next issue, the submission should be received by our editor no later than 15 days before beginning of a new quarter.  New quarters begin January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.

We accept multiple submissions.  We are even willing to republish an article you had published elsewhere, as long as the copyright remains yours.  If the publication or website your article appears in holds the rights to publishing, we cannot republish it.  If your article is published in our publication, you may still have it published elsewhere.  We only hold the rights to publish your article in our magazine for that one issue, but after it appears in our publication, you retain your copyright and may do with it as you please.

You may submit multiple articles to our editor.  If the article is evergreen, we may hang on to it for a future issue.

Our response time varies, but should not take longer than four weeks.  If we do not respond at all, the article was not accepted for publication.

We do not charge a submission fee, but we also do not pay authors for published submissions.  Our only reimbursement at this time is to mail a copy of the publication that your work appeared in to you.

Minimum words per article is 750.  We prefer between 2,000 to 5,000, with a maximum allowed of 7,500 words.  Images are not necessary, and may not be published, but are acceptable with the understanding that if the image is published, it will be in black and white.

Submit your article to constitutionspeaker@yahoo.com and put the words "Article Submission" in the subject line.  Do not forget to furnish a title, your name, your mailing information, and short bio.
